Description

Amish Meatball Noodles is a comforting dish made with tender meatballs, rich brown gravy, and wide egg noodles, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs meatballs of beef, fully cooked and frozen
  • 1 package (10.5-ounces) condensed beef gravy or brown gravy
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 12 oz uncooked wide-ribbon egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen beef meatballs in the bottom of a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker.
  2. Spoon the condensed beef gravy over the meatballs and pour the beef broth. Mix gently.
  3. Cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours until the meatballs are cooked through.
  4. 35 to 45 minutes before serving, stir the sauce and adjust the thickness if necessary.
  5. Add the uncooked wide egg noodles to the slow cooker, ensuring they are mostly submerged in the gravy.
  6. Cook on HIGH, stirring every 15 to 20 minutes, until the noodles are soft and tender.
  7. Once the noodles are shiny and cooked, stir to coat with sauce and rearrange meatballs.
  8. Switch the slow cooker to WARM and let rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker gravy, let the lid off for the first 10 minutes after adding the noodles.
  • Adjust cooking time based on the desired tenderness of the noodles.
  • Letting the dish rest allows more flavor absorption.
