Description

Delicious banana bread brownies topped with cream cheese frosting, combining the flavors of banana bread and brownies into a delightful treat.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
  3. Mix in sour cream, eggs, and vanilla.
  4. Combine dry ingredients separately, then mix into wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in bananas and walnuts.
  6. Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool completely.
  7. For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  8. Spread frosting over cooled brownies.

Notes

  • Make sure the bananas are very ripe for the best flavor.
  • You can substitute walnuts with pecans or leave them out for a nut-free version.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
