Description

A delicious and hearty dish featuring large pasta shells stuffed with a flavorful beef and creamy ricotta filling, topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.


Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat; drain excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, combine the cooked beef, ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Stuff each pasta shell with the beef and cheese mixture.
  6. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish and cover with remaining marinara sauce.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with sautéed vegetables or lentils.
  • Can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving for added flavor.
