Description

A delightful breakfast pizza topped with biscuits, sausage gravy, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 lb breakfast sausage
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count, or 1 lb)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Nonstick spray or parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a large baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the biscuits and press them together evenly into the prepared baking sheet, forming a single crust. Pinch seams to seal.
  3. Bake the biscuit crust for 10–12 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbled. Do not drain all the grease—leave about 1 tablespoon.
  5. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk, stirring constantly until thickened (5–7 minutes).
  6. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper if using. Remove from heat.
  7. Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the biscuit crust.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Bake again for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Can substitute sausage with turkey sausage for a lighter option.
