Description
Delicious brown butter chocolate chip cookies that are chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside, perfect for dessert or a sweet snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, allowing it to brown slightly to develop a nutty flavor.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the brown butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture and stir until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop dough balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For a stronger nutty flavor, allow the butter to brown more deeply, but be careful not to burn it.
- Let the cookies cool completely for the best texture.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for several days.
