- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup whole pecans for topping
- 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust (or homemade if preferred)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the chocolate chips and butter, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in chopped pecans.
- Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared pie crust and smooth the top.
- Decoratively arrange the whole pecans over the surface.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Allow to cool completely before slicing to ensure clean cuts and a fudgy texture.
