- 340g (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
- Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate the Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually Add Dry Ingredients to Wet Ingredients: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in the Chocolate Chips (and Nuts, if using): Gently fold in the chocolate chips and nuts until evenly distributed.
- Chill the Dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Prepare Baking Sheets: Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- Scoop the Dough: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
- Optional: Sprinkle with Sea Salt: Sprinkle the tops with flaky sea salt if desired.
- Bake the Cookies: Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and centers are slightly soft.
