  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
  • 1½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened (for garlic butter)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (for garlic butter)
  • Pizza sauce (for topping)
  • Mozzarella cheese (for topping)
  • Your favorite pizza toppings

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and grease a 12-inch pizza pan thoroughly.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until combined.
  3. Cut cold butter into flour mixture using a pastry cutter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese, distributing evenly throughout the flour mixture.
  5. Create a well in the center and add buttermilk and sour cream, mixing gently until dough forms.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently 3-4 times until smooth.
  7. Roll or press dough into a 12-inch circle and transfer to the prepared pizza pan.
  8. Make garlic butter by combining softened butter with garlic, herbs, and seasonings.
  9. Brush the crust with half the garlic butter and poke holes with a fork throughout.
  10. Pre-bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden and set but not fully cooked.
  11. Remove from oven, brush with more garlic butter, and add desired toppings.
  12. Return to oven for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and the crust is golden.
  13. Brush the edges with remaining garlic butter and let cool for 3-5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize your toppings based on your preferences.
  • If you don’t have buttermilk, you can substitute with regular milk mixed with a little vinegar.
