Ingredients
Scale
- 450 g ground beef or ground pork
- 115 g cheddar cheese, cut into cubes
- 12 slices thin-cut bacon
- 120 ml barbecue sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional, for enhanced caramelization)
- Toothpicks, for securing bacon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C. Line a baking sheet with foil for easier cleanup.
- In a large mixing bowl, blend the ground meat with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to ensure even seasoning.
- Portion the seasoned meat, flatten each piece, and insert a cube of cheddar cheese at the center. Enclose the cheese within the meat, forming a compact ball. Repeat until all meat and cheese are used.
- Wrap each meatball with a slice of bacon, securing it in place using a toothpick.
Notes
- For additional caramelization and a glossy finish, brush the bombs with barbecue sauce during the last few minutes of baking.
- For crispier bacon, finish under a broiler, monitoring closely to avoid burning.
