Description

Cheese-Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers are a delicious appetizer featuring jalapeños filled with a creamy and cheesy mixture, then deep-fried to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 fresh jalapeños
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Begin by cutting the jalapeños in half lengthwise and removing the seeds and membranes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.
  3. Using a small spoon or a piping bag, fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, ensuring they are generously stuffed.
  4. Place the stuffed jalapeños on a plate and cover them with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure they adhere to the cheese filling.
  5. In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully add the stuffed jalapeños in batches to the hot oil, avoiding overcrowding the pan.
  7. Fry the jalapeños for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove them using a slotted spoon and let drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Keep some seeds in the jalapeños for extra heat if desired.
  • Adjust the spices according to your taste preferences.
