Description

A delicious and easy-to-make cheesy pesto garlic bread that is perfect as an appetizer or side dish.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of French bread or ciabatta, halved lengthwise
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup pesto (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
  • Cracked black pepper
  • Fresh basil or oregano leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix softened butter with minced garlic and salt, then spread over the cut sides of the bread.
  3. Spread a generous layer of pesto over the buttered bread.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the top.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, then broil for 1–2 minutes to get that perfect golden top.
  6. Finish with cracked pepper and fresh herbs. Slice and serve hot!

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the cheese topping.
  • Use homemade pesto for a fresher flavor.
