A delicious and easy-to-make cheesy pesto garlic bread that is perfect as an appetizer or side dish.

- 1 loaf of French bread or ciabatta, halved lengthwise
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup pesto (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
- Cracked black pepper
- Fresh basil or oregano leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Mix softened butter with minced garlic and salt, then spread over the cut sides of the bread.
- Spread a generous layer of pesto over the buttered bread.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the top.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, then broil for 1–2 minutes to get that perfect golden top.
- Finish with cracked pepper and fresh herbs. Slice and serve hot!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the cheese topping.
- Use homemade pesto for a fresher flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
