Description

Cheesy Sausage & Hashbrown is a delicious and comforting dish made with frozen hashbrowns, smoked sausage, and a creamy cheese sauce, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen shredded hashbrowns
  • 12 oz halal smoked beef or turkey sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 ½ cups sour cream
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup (halal-certified)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together sour cream, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. In the slow cooker, combine frozen hashbrowns, sliced sausage, and 1 ½ cups of the shredded cheese. Pour the sauce mixture over the top and stir gently to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until hot and bubbly.
  4. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup of cheese over the top during the last 10 minutes. Cover and let melt.
  5. Garnish with green onions or parsley and serve hot!

Notes

  • This recipe can be prepared a day in advance; just refrigerate the mixture and cook the next day.
  • Feel free to substitute with your favorite type of sausage.
  • For a spicier kick, add chopped jalapeños to the mix.
