Cheesy Sausage & Hashbrown is a delicious and comforting dish made with frozen hashbrowns, smoked sausage, and a creamy cheese sauce, perfect for family gatherings.

- 1 (32 oz) bag frozen shredded hashbrowns
- 12 oz halal smoked beef or turkey sausage, sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 ½ cups sour cream
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup (halal-certified)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: chopped green onions or parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together sour cream, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In the slow cooker, combine frozen hashbrowns, sliced sausage, and 1 ½ cups of the shredded cheese. Pour the sauce mixture over the top and stir gently to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until hot and bubbly.
- Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup of cheese over the top during the last 10 minutes. Cover and let melt.
- Garnish with green onions or parsley and serve hot!
Notes
- This recipe can be prepared a day in advance; just refrigerate the mixture and cook the next day.
- Feel free to substitute with your favorite type of sausage.
- For a spicier kick, add chopped jalapeños to the mix.
