Description

Cherry Chocolate Pretzel Bark is a delightful sweet treat combining the rich flavors of chocolate with the crunch of pretzels and the sweetness of dried cherries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300 grams (10.5 oz) semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 100 grams (3.5 oz) white chocolate, finely chopped (optional, for drizzling)
  • 60 grams (2 oz) mini salted pretzels, broken into smaller pieces
  • 70 grams (2.5 oz) dried cherries, roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon flaked sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Surface: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, ensuring complete coverage.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Gently melt the semi-sweet chocolate using a double boiler method or in 30-second intervals in a microwave, stirring after each interval until completely smooth and fluid.
  3. Form the Bark Base: Pour the melted semi-sweet chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly into a layer approximately 0.5 cm (¼ inch) thick.
  4. Add Mix-ins: Immediately distribute the broken mini pretzels and chopped dried cherries evenly over the melted chocolate. Use a spatula to gently press the mix-ins into the chocolate base.
  5. Apply Drizzle (Optional): If using white chocolate for decoration, melt it and drizzle it artfully over the bark.
  6. Final Seasoning: Sprinkle uniformly with flaked sea salt, if desired, for an enhanced salty contrast.
  7. Chill to Set: Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill for a minimum of 30 minutes, or until the bark is completely firm and set.
  8. Portion and Store: Once solidified, break the bark into irregular pieces. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Notes

  • Ensure that the chocolate is finely chopped for easier melting.
  • Feel free to experiment with other mix-ins such as nuts or different dried fruits.
