Description

A delicious and flavorful Chinese beef dish featuring tender marinated meat and vibrant vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Beef: In a mixing bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix until the beef is well-coated. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables: While the beef is marinating, slice the bell pepper, and chop the broccoli and green onions. Set aside.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a large pan or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the hot pan in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove the beef and set aside.
  5. Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add bell pepper and broccoli. Stir-fry for about 5 minutes until vegetables are tender yet crisp.
  6. Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the pan with the vegetables. Add sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  7. Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with green onions.

Notes

  • This dish can be customized by adding other vegetables like carrots or snap peas.
  • For spiciness, consider adding chili flakes or sliced fresh chili.
  • Ensure the beef is cut against the grain for tenderness.
