Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ pounds cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup whipping cream
  • Finely minced zest of one large orange
  • 4 cups icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 34 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour two 10-inch cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, eggs, soured milk, brewed coffee, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on wire racks.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract, orange zest, and whipping cream.
  5. Pour cheesecake batter into a lined springform pan and bake for 50 minutes until set. Cool completely.
  6. Assemble by layering the cheesecake between chocolate cake layers. Frost with chocolate buttercream and pour ganache over the top.
  7. Garnish with fresh orange slices if desired.
