- 3/4 cup whipping cream
- Finely minced zest of one large orange
- 4 cups icing sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup softened butter
- 3–4 tablespoons milk
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour two 10-inch cake pans.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, eggs, soured milk, brewed coffee, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on wire racks.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract, orange zest, and whipping cream.
- Pour cheesecake batter into a lined springform pan and bake for 50 minutes until set. Cool completely.
- Assemble by layering the cheesecake between chocolate cake layers. Frost with chocolate buttercream and pour ganache over the top.
- Garnish with fresh orange slices if desired.
