Description

Churro Cracker Candy is a delicious and easy-to-make sweet treat that combines the flavors of cinnamon and sugar with a crispy cracker base.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 sleeves of saltine crackers
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1 cup of butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 (12 oz) bag of white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a large baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Arrange the saltines in a single layer, covering the entire sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a small saucepan, then add the brown sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble.
  4. Let it bubble for 2 more minutes, then pour the mixture over the saltines, spreading evenly with a spatula as needed.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce bubbles and darkens.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately scatter the white chocolate chips over the hot crackers. Wait about 5 minutes for the chips to melt, then spread them into an even layer with a spatula.
  7. Quickly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the melted chocolate before it hardens.
  8. Allow the candy to cool completely, approximately 30-60 minutes, then break into bite-sized pieces.
  9. Store the candy in an airtight container to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • Make sure to line the baking sheet well to avoid sticking.
  • You can adjust the amount of cinnamon based on your preference.
