Description

Classic Marry Me Salmon is a rich and flavorful dish that features perfectly seared salmon fillets smothered in a creamy garlic parmesan sauce, ideal for a romantic dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2.5 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 0.25 tsp onion powder
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 0.5 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1.5 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 0.75 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the Italian seasoning, salt, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and onion powder.
  3. Rub the olive oil evenly over both sides of each salmon fillet and coat with the spice mixture.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Lay the seasoned salmon fillets skin-side up and cook undisturbed for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Flip each fillet and cook for another 3-4 minutes until just cooked through.
  7. Transfer the cooked salmon to a clean plate and set aside.
  8. In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  9. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  10. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  11. Reduce the heat to low and whisk in the room-temperature cream cheese until smooth.
  12. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until the sauce thickens.
  13. Season with lemon juice, fresh parsley, and chopped basil; adjust salt and pepper to taste.
  14. Return the cooked salmon fillets to the skillet and heat everything together for 1-2 minutes.
  15. Divide the salmon among serving plates and spoon the creamy lemon sauce over each fillet. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Choosing fresh, high-quality salmon enhances the flavor.
  • Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature for easier incorporation.
  • Don’t wash the skillet after cooking the salmon; the brown bits add flavor to the sauce.
