Description

Crispy Onion Ring Chips are a delicious and healthy oven-baked snack made from fresh onions and Parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 yellow onions
  • 5 ounces shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Thinly sliced onions on a mandolin or with a very sharp knife (use 1/28th in setting on mandolin).
  3. Spread Parmesan into a layer covering a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Spread the onion slices over the Parmesan in a single layer.
  5. Brush the olive oil on the tops of the onions. Sprinkle the salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper over the onions.
  6. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the cheese is crispy.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing into chips.

Notes

  • For best results, cut onions uniformly for even cooking.
  • Can adjust spices according to personal preference.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
