Ingredients

- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- a few drops balsamic vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine dried basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt. Add Parmesan if using.
- Mix the spices well to ensure an even blend.
- Allow the spice blend to sit for a few minutes to deepen the flavors.
- Pour in the olive oil and mix gently. Add balsamic vinegar if desired.
- Let it marinate for 15–30 minutes at room temperature.
- Transfer to a ramekin and serve with warm crusty bread.
- Stir before serving to redistribute spices.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to a week and bring to room temp before using.

- Use cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil for best flavor.
- Gently crush dried herbs between fingers before mixing to intensify aroma.
