Description

Dorito Casserole is a quick and easy family favorite that combines ground beef, cheese, and Doritos for a delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel), drained
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (9.75 oz) Nacho Cheese Doritos, slightly crushed
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning and water to the beef and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and chopped onions if using. Mix until well combined.
  5. Lightly crush the Doritos in the bag — don’t pulverize them, just break them into bite-sized pieces.
  6. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the crushed Doritos.
  7. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the chips.
  8. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Layer the remaining Doritos over the cheese, then top with the remaining cheese.
  10. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  11. Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired. Serve hot.
