Description
Delicious double chocolate cookies, perfect for birthday celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional, for added texture)
- 1/4 cup colorful sprinkles (optional, for birthday effect)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, beating until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and mini chocolate chips (if using). If you’re making these cookies for a birthday, gently stir in the colorful sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are soft. The cookies will firm up as they cool.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Enjoy your Double Chocolate Birthday Cookies, and share the joy with friends and family!
