- 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the cream cheese and stir until smooth.
- Mix in the sour cream and milk, stirring until well combined.
- Add the shredded cheese gradually, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- If desired, add hot sauce for extra heat.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl.
- Garnish with chopped chives or green onions before serving.
