Easy Cottage Cheese Rolls: Deliciously Simple Recipe!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for brushing (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm milk and sprinkle the yeast over the top. Let it sit for 5 minutes, or until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, and garlic powder (if using).
  3. Add the yeast mixture, cottage cheese, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Stir to combine and form a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Cut the dough into 12 equal strips and roll each strip into a log shape.
  8. Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover with a towel, and let them rise for an additional 20-30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
  10. Optionally, brush with melted butter after baking for a buttery finish.
