Description

A delightful and refreshing dessert made with a moist white cake soaked in strawberry jello and topped with Cool Whip and fresh strawberries.


Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (3 oz) package strawberry JELLO
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 (8 oz) container Cool Whip, thawed
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, oil, and water. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  3. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25–28 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Cool the cake completely, about 45 minutes.
  5. Using a wooden spoon handle or skewer, poke holes all over the cake about an inch apart.
  6. Dissolve strawberry jello in 1 cup boiling water and stir until fully dissolved.
  7. Slowly pour jello over the cake, letting it seep into the holes.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  9. Spread Cool Whip over the chilled cake and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.

Notes

  • Make sure the cake is completely cool before adding jello.
  • Chill overnight for best results.
  • Add diced strawberries to Cool Whip for extra flavor.
