Description

A flavorful and healthy dish featuring fish steamed with ginger and lime, perfect for a light meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large fish fillet (cod, snapper, or sea bass)
  • Fresh ginger slices (2–3 thin pieces)
  • Fresh lime juice (1 tbsp)
  • Light soy sauce (1 tbsp)
  • Fish sauce (1 tbsp)
  • Olive or sesame oil (1 tbsp)
  • Red chilies, thinly sliced (1–2)
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • Lime wedges
  • Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the fish. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Combine soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, and oil in a small bowl.
  3. Add 1 inch of water to a pot and bring to a simmer with a steaming rack inside.
  4. Place fish on a heatproof plate. Slide ginger slices under it. Pour sauce on top.
  5. Put the plate in the steamer. Cover and steam for 8–10 minutes, until fish flakes.
  6. Top with red chilies and coriander. Add lime wedges on the side.
  7. Serve hot with rice or vegetables and more lime.
