Description
A delicious and indulgent dessert made with gooey creamy filling and fresh strawberries, all encased in golden brown fried bread.

- 8 slices brioche or challah bread
- 2 tablespoons butter, for frying
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced thin
- 1/4 cup strawberry preserves or jam
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons whole milk
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl until completely smooth and fluffy.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over four slices of bread, leaving a small border. Layer with thinly sliced strawberries and top each with strawberry preserves. Place the remaining bread slices on top and press gently to seal.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs and whole milk until fully blended.
- Carefully dip each assembled sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides thoroughly.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place coated sandwiches in the pan and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crisp. Remove to paper towels to absorb excess butter.
- Dust sandwiches with powdered sugar, cut diagonally, and serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- For an extra touch, try adding chocolate sauce on top before serving.
- This recipe can be easily halved for a smaller serving.
