Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 large apples, finely diced
- ½ cup caramel sauce
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ cup caramel sauce for drizzle on top
- A sprinkle of sea salt (optional)
- Chopped pecans or walnuts for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon until fully combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking dish to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and let cool completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- In another bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Gently fold the whipped cream into this mixture until well blended and smooth.
- In a medium bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and half the caramel sauce. Ensure the apples are evenly coated.
- Spread half of the cream layer over the cooled graham cracker crust.
- Evenly distribute the caramel apple filling on top of the cream layer.
- Pour the remaining cream over the apple filling and smooth to the edges.
- Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on the top layer.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours or until solid. For the best texture, let them freeze overnight.
- When ready to serve, remove from the freezer and let sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes for easier slicing.
- Cut into bars and optionally garnish with chopped nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt.
- Serve these delightful bars chilled and watch them disappear as guests rave over the flavors!
Notes
- For best results, use tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
- Allow the bars to freeze overnight for optimal texture.
