Description

A delightful twist on traditional lasagna, featuring shrimp sautéed in garlic butter layered with pasta and a creamy cheese sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 box of lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup of butter (for the garlic butter sauce)
  • 4 cloves of garlic (for the garlic butter sauce, minced)
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley (for the garlic butter sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice (for the garlic butter sauce)

Instructions

  1. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter for the garlic butter sauce. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, until well combined.
  6. Gradually whisk in the milk, making sure there are no lumps. Cook the sauce until thickened, stirring constantly.
  7. Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of the garlic butter sauce. Arrange a layer of lasagna noodles on top.
  10. Spread a layer of the garlic butter sauce over the noodles, followed by a layer of shrimp and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
  11. Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese on top.
  12. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  13. Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
