A spooky and delicious treat perfect for Halloween, these Bloody Cinnamon Rolls are sweet, fluffy, and decorated with a blood-red glaze that makes them a fun addition to any Halloween celebration.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and melted butter, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Roll up the dough tightly and slice into 8 equal pieces. Place rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  6. For the bloody glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until smooth. Drizzle generously over the warm cinnamon rolls to create a ‘bloody’ effect.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use brown butter in the glaze.
  • If you prefer a thicker glaze, reduce the amount of milk added.
