- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for glaze)
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and melted butter, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up the dough tightly and slice into 8 equal pieces. Place rolls in the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly.
- For the bloody glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until smooth. Drizzle generously over the warm cinnamon rolls to create a ‘bloody’ effect.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brown butter in the glaze.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, reduce the amount of milk added.
