- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (ensure it’s alcohol-free)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
- Stir in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper, if using.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool before transferring to a jar or airtight container. The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
