Description

A flavorful and easy-to-make homemade BBQ sauce perfect for grilling and glazing.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (ensure it’s alcohol-free)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
  2. Stir in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper, if using.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool before transferring to a jar or airtight container. The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
