Description

Homemade Hamburger Helper is a quick and delicious dinner recipe that combines ground beef, pasta, and cheese for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the elbow macaroni, beef broth, milk, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked and the liquid has thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese or fresh herbs if desired.
