Description

Crispy and flavorful Hot Honey Chicken Cutlets that are perfectly spicy and sweet, making for a delightful meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast cutlets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or enough for shallow frying)
  • Optional: fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken breast cutlets by pounding them to an even thickness if necessary.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, and black pepper, mixing well.
  3. In another shallow dish, whisk the eggs with the tablespoon of water until smooth.
  4. In a third shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Dredge each chicken cutlet in the flour mixture, ensuring full coating, then shake off excess flour.
  6. Dip the floured cutlet into the beaten eggs, making sure it is fully covered.
  7. Press the cutlet into the breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides evenly. Set aside on a plate and repeat with remaining cutlets.
  8. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  9. Add the chicken cutlets to the skillet, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry each side for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Remove the cooked cutlets and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  11. While warm, drizzle the cutlets generously with hot honey.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For best results, use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
  • Adjust the amount of hot honey according to your spice tolerance.
  • Make sure the oil is sufficiently hot to prevent the cutlets from absorbing too much oil.
