Description

A deliciously creamy and spicy cheese ball inspired by the classic jalapeño popper, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 grams cream cheese, softened
  • 100 grams sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 70 grams cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 25 grams green onions, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Additional chopped bacon (for coating)
  • Additional chopped jalapeños (for coating)
  • Additional chopped green onions (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Using a large mixing bowl, stir the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add the shredded cheddar, cooked bacon, finely chopped jalapeños, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to ensure a uniform mixture.
  3. Transfer the mixture onto a large sheet of plastic wrap. Use the wrap to form the mixture into a firm ball. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes to allow the texture to set and the flavours to meld.
  4. Remove the chilled cheese ball from the wrap and roll it in additional chopped bacon, jalapeños, and green onions.
  5. Place on a serving dish and present with an assortment of vegetables, crackers, or chips.

Notes

  • For added spice, include more jalapeños in the mixture and as a coating.
  • This cheese ball can be made a day in advance; just store it wrapped in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
  • Serve with a variety of dippers such as celery sticks, tortilla chips, or pita crackers.
