- 1 large English cucumber
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3.5 oz smoked salmon, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon capers, optional
- Fresh dill sprigs, optional
Instructions
- Wash and dry the cucumber thoroughly. Slice into 16 thick rounds approximately 0.5 inch thick each.
- Combine softened cream cheese, chopped dill, lemon juice, and black pepper in a small bowl. Mix until smooth and well incorporated.
- Using a small spoon or piping bag, distribute approximately 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture onto each cucumber round.
- Gently fold or roll smoked salmon slices and place on top of the cream cheese layer.
- Top each bite with capers and a small dill sprig if desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours.
Notes
- Serve chilled for the best taste.
- Can be prepared a few hours in advance; just keep refrigerated.
