A delicious and versatile layered taco dip perfect for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 16 ounces refried beans
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1 1/4 cups salsa
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 2 pieces green onions, sliced
- 1 cup guacamole (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by placing the salsa in a fine-mesh sieve and allowing it to drain.
- In a large skillet set over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning.
- Spread the refried beans evenly in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spoon the taco-seasoned beef evenly over the refried beans.
- In a separate bowl, blend together the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
- Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the beef layer and spread it to the pan’s edges.
- Stir the sliced green onions into the guacamole (if using) and spread this layer on top of the cream cheese mixture.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the entire surface, finishing with sliced black olives and green onions.
- Cover the dip and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Serve straight from the fridge with tortilla chips.
Notes
- Store tightly covered in the refrigerator.
- Use a paper towel to absorb excess moisture to prevent sogginess.
