Description
The Michigan Olive Burger is a delicious and unique twist on the classic hamburger, featuring ground beef mixed with green olives and served with fresh toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped green olives (Michigan-style, preferably with pimentos)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Pickles (optional)
- Mayonnaise or mustard for spreading
- Cheese slices (optional, cheddar or American)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped green olives, finely chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape mixture into 4 evenly sized patties.
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. If using cheese, add slices in the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise or mustard on the buns, then layering lettuce, tomato slices, the cooked olive burger patty, and pickles if desired.
- Serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For a spicier version, consider adding jalapeños.
- Pair with fries or a side salad for a complete meal.
