Description

The Michigan Olive Burger is a delicious and unique twist on the classic hamburger, featuring ground beef mixed with green olives and served with fresh toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped green olives (Michigan-style, preferably with pimentos)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Mayonnaise or mustard for spreading
  • Cheese slices (optional, cheddar or American)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped green olives, finely chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape mixture into 4 evenly sized patties.
  3. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. If using cheese, add slices in the last minute of cooking to melt.
  4. Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
  5. Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise or mustard on the buns, then layering lettuce, tomato slices, the cooked olive burger patty, and pickles if desired.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, consider adding jalapeños.
  • Pair with fries or a side salad for a complete meal.
