- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Thaw the puff pastry according to package instructions until it’s cool but pliable. Cut into 9 even squares.
- In a bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Add a spoonful of cream cheese mixture to each square, then top with cherry pie filling.
- Fold the corners slightly or leave open for a rustic look.
- Beat the egg and brush the pastry edges for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before serving to allow the filling to set.
