Description
Mint Oreo Truffles are irresistible no-bake treats that combine the classic flavors of mint and chocolate, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package Mint Oreo cookies
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 12 oz white or dark chocolate, melted (for coating)
- Green food coloring (optional)
- Sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or chocolate drizzle for decoration
Instructions
- Crush the Oreos – Use a food processor or place the Oreos in a sealed bag and crush them into fine crumbs with a rolling pin.
- Mix with Cream Cheese – In a bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese. Mix until fully combined and smooth.
- Shape the Truffles – Roll the mixture into small balls (about 1-inch in diameter) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill – Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or freeze for 15 minutes to firm up.
- Melt the Chocolate – In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. If using white chocolate, you can add green food coloring.
- Coat the Truffles – Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coating. Use a fork to lift them out, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
- Decorate – Add sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or drizzle with extra chocolate before the coating sets.
- Chill Again – Place the truffles back in the fridge until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve and Enjoy!
Notes
- To prevent cracks, don’t freeze truffles too long before dipping them in chocolate.
- For smoother melted chocolate, add a teaspoon of coconut oil or vegetable shortening.
- Use a fork or dipping tool for even chocolate coating.
- For an extra minty flavor, add a few drops of peppermint extract to the chocolate or cream cheese mixture.
