Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- ½ cup (113 g) salted sweet cream butter, softened
- ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup (67 g) light brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) half and half
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pure vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1½ cups (210 g) plain M&M’s, divided (1 cup plus ½ cup)
- 1 cup (165 g) plain mini M&M’s, divided (½ cup plus ½ cup)
- 1½ cups (255 g) high-quality white baking chips
- 396 g can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Line an 20×20 cm (8×8 inch) baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease with nonstick spray. Set aside.
- Place the all-purpose flour into a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Let cool completely, then sift to eliminate clumps.
- Divide 1 cup of plain M&M’s and ½ cup mini M&M’s into separate resealable bags and freeze while preparing the dough.
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, half and half, vanilla extract, and salt with a handheld mixer for 1½ to 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
- On low speed, incorporate the cooled, sifted flour into the butter mixture. Mix just until combined. Set aside.
- In a heatproof bowl, microwave white baking chips with sweetened condensed milk in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and fully melted.
- Remove M&M’s from the freezer. Gently fold frozen M&M’s and mini M&M’s into the flour and butter mixture using a wooden spoon.
- Pour the melted white chocolate mixture into the prepared cookie dough. Stir until thoroughly combined.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle remaining M&M’s and mini M&M’s on top. Gently press them into the surface.
- Cover tightly and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, or overnight, until set.
- Once chilled and firm, remove from the refrigerator and slice into 25 equal squares (5 by 5).
Notes
- Ensure the flour is cooled completely before mixing to avoid cooking the butter.
- For best results, refrigerate overnight to enhance the flavor and texture.
