Description

Neon Galaxy Candy Apples are a colorful and fun treat perfect for parties or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon gel food coloring (neon blue, pink, purple, green)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon edible glitter or luster dust
  • 6 wooden candy apple sticks
  • Cooking spray or butter for parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Prepare The Apples: Wash and dry the apples thoroughly, removing any wax coating. Insert wooden sticks into the top of each apple.
  2. Prepare The Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  3. Make The Candy Coating: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Without stirring, let the mixture reach 300°F (hard crack stage) using a candy thermometer. Remove from heat.
  4. Add Flavor And Color: Quickly stir in the vanilla extract and swirl in the gel food coloring, gently mixing to create a galaxy effect.
  5. Dip The Apples: Dip each apple into the candy coating, twirling it as you lift to create a marbled effect.
  6. Add Glitter: Sprinkle edible glitter over the apples while they are still warm.
  7. Cool The Apples: Place the apples on the parchment paper and let them cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature measurement.
  • Experiment with different colors to create unique galaxy effects.
  • Store the candy apples in a cool, dry place to maintain their texture.
