- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (plus extra for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and salt until well combined.
- Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and ground nutmeg.
- Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- Sprinkle a little extra nutmeg on top for added flavor and presentation.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely before slicing and serving.
