- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- ½ cup BBQ sauce, plus more for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare the baking tray.
- Mix spice rub ingredients in a bowl.
- Pat chicken dry and coat with the spice rub.
- Bake chicken uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Coat chicken with BBQ sauce and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until cooked.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
