Description

Delicious chocolate truffles made with crushed Oreos and peppermint, covered in a rich chocolate coating and topped with crushed candy canes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 36 Oreo cookies
  • 226 grams cream cheese, softened
  • 1.5 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • 120 grams white candy melts
  • 120 grams milk chocolate candy melts
  • 30 grams crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Pulse the Oreo cookies in a food processor or blender until finely ground.
  3. Add the softened cream cheese and peppermint extract to the crushed cookies. Pulse until the mixture is thoroughly combined and forms a smooth dough.
  4. Using a small ice cream scoop or your hands, portion the dough and roll into balls. Place each ball onto the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Place the baking sheet with formed truffle balls in the freezer for at least 1 hour, until firm.
  6. Melt both white and milk chocolate candy melts according to package instructions until smooth.
  7. Remove the chilled truffle balls from the freezer. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coating.
  8. Place dipped truffles back onto the baking sheet and immediately sprinkle with crushed candy canes. Allow the chocolate coating to harden completely before serving.

Notes

  • For a more intense peppermint flavor, increase the amount of peppermint extract slightly.
  • These truffles can be stored in the fridge for up to a week.
  • Feel free to vary the types of candy melts used for different flavors.
