Description

A delicious combination of Philly cheesesteak and garlic bread that creates a mouthwatering meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 large green bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  3. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add olive oil to the skillet and sear the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness.
  5. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  6. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  7. Add the sliced onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  8. Place the halved French bread on a baking sheet, cut-side up.
  9. Top the bread with the sliced ribeye steak, sautéed onions, and green bell peppers.
  10. Place the provolone cheese slices on top of the steak and vegetable mixture.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing into individual portions.
  13. Enjoy the delicious Philly Cheesesteak Meets Garlic Bread Magic straight from the oven!

Notes

  • Make sure to let the steak rest before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute, keeping it juicy and flavorful.
  • You can customize this recipe by adding mushrooms, jalapenos, or your favorite cheese.
  • For a crispy bread crust, toast the halved French bread in the oven before adding the steak and toppings.
  • Feel free to adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences by adding herbs like thyme or oregano.
  • Serve with a side of marinara sauce or aioli for dipping.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated in the oven for a quick and delicious meal.
