Description

Pineapple Casserole is a sweet and savory dish that combines the tropical flavor of pineapple with the richness of cheddar cheese and a crunchy topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained crushed pineapple, sugar, flour, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  3. Stir in the melted butter and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the pineapple mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers and chopped pecans (if using). Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the pineapple layer in the baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
