Description

A delicious twist on traditional burgers, Pizza Burgers Marinara Mozzarella combines ground beef, refried beans, and melted cheese wrapped in flour tortillas, topped with enchilada sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 grams ground beef
  • 1 can (about 425 grams) refried beans
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (approximately 30 grams)
  • 120 millilitres water
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 100 grams shredded cheddar cheese
  • 240 millilitres enchilada sauce
  • 240 millilitres sour cream
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 15 grams chopped fresh cilantro
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic until beef is browned and onions are softened. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add refried beans, taco seasoning, and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook until mixture is heated through and fully blended.
  4. Warm the flour tortillas in the microwave for 20-30 seconds to make them more pliable.
  5. Spoon equal portions of the beef and bean mixture onto each tortilla. Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Roll tortillas tightly to enclose filling.
  6. Place the filled tortillas seam-side down in a baking dish. Pour enchilada sauce evenly over burritos. Sprinkle with remaining cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbling.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with sour cream, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add jalapeños to the beef mixture.
  • Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a healthier option.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
