Description

Pizza Tortellini Skillet is a quick and tasty meal that combines cheesy tortellini, ground beef, and crispy pepperoni in a rich marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 19 oz frozen cheese tortellini
  • 24 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 4 oz cream cheese (½ block)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ⅓ cup mini pepperoni (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and Italian seasoning while the meat is cooking.
  2. Add about ⅓ cup of mini pepperoni to the skillet with the beef. Let them cook together for 2-3 minutes until the pepperoni starts to get crispy and releases its oils for extra flavor.
  3. Drain any excess grease from the pan, then add the minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to let the garlic burn.
  4. Add the marinara sauce and cream cheese to the skillet. Stir well, breaking up the cream cheese and mixing it in completely until you have a smooth, creamy sauce.
  5. Add the frozen tortellini directly to the skillet and stir to coat with the sauce. Cover and cook on medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, or until the tortellini are heated through and tender.
  6. Top with the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, plus extra pepperoni. Either broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes until bubbly, or cover and let sit on low heat until the cheese melts completely. Serve hot.
