Description

A simple recipe for making delicious Red Hot Cinnamon Hard Candy that is perfect for treating yourself or giving as gifts.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon oil (food-grade)
  • 1/2 tsp red food coloring (optional)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment or prepare your molds. Measure out your cinnamon oil and food coloring. Clip the thermometer to your saucepan.
  2. Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in the saucepan. Stir over medium heat until dissolved.
  3. Stop stirring and heat the mixture to 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in cinnamon oil and food coloring.
  5. Pour into molds or baking sheet. Cool completely.
  6. Break into pieces and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
