- 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the chicken mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- In a separate bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers with the melted butter, stirring until the crackers are evenly coated.
- Sprinkle the buttery Ritz cracker mixture over the chicken mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cracker topping is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to use cooked chicken for faster preparation.
- You can substitute the cream of chicken soup with a homemade version for a healthier option.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
