Description

A simple and delicious recipe for salmon patties that are perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh salmon filet
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup yellow onion, chopped
  • ½ cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon old bay seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • lemon wedges, for garnish (optional)
  • tartar sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400˚F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the salmon on the baking sheet, skin down. Drizzle with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until flaky. Remove from the oven and let it rest until cool enough to touch.
  4. Once cooled, use two forks to flake the salmon and set it in a large bowl. Discard the skin and any bones.
  5. Add the eggs, garlic, onion, bread crumbs, old bay seasoning, and salt to the bowl. Stir to combine.
  6. Form the mixture into 8 patties that are about 2 inches wide by ½-inch thick.
  7. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the patties in the skillet in an even layer, cooking in batches if necessary.
  8. Brown the patties for 3-5 minutes on one side, then flip and brown the other side for another 3-5 minutes.
  9. Set the cooked patties on a paper towel to drain.
  10. Serve warm with freshly squeezed lemon and homemade tartar sauce (optional).

Notes

  • Ensure salmon is fully cooked to 145°F for safety.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste if desired.
  • Can be served with a side salad or steamed vegetables.
